In a batch process, increasing productivity often means increasing production throughput. For example, producing five multi-step batches in a vessel in 24 hours where before you could only do four. There are programmatic methods (e.g. Visual Basic) to calculate batch cycle information, however it generally requires application proficiency. For those who don’t have the time to become proficient at VB or the time to support it, this ‘Keep-It-Simple-Stupid’ approach avoids VB programming to create, capture, and analyze batch cycle information.
Examples using the PI add-in to Excel w/batch query, totalizers, performance equations, and the PIE chart Active-X control are given.
