NERC Urgent Action Standard 1200 requires that all Control Systems identify the control system security perimeter and critical cyber assets, also establish tools and procedures used to monitor the critical cyber assets. With the PI System by OSIsoft already monitoring SDGE’s electric T&D power system (real-time and historical) for the dispatchers and engineers, why not use IT Monitor to monitor all SDGE’s EMS control system infrastructure for the support staff? With multiple interfaces in IT Monitor, SDGE successfully implemented IT Monitor to monitor all EMS UNIX nodes (including disk, cpu, memory, application and processes, etc.). Windows servers, network routers, switches and firewalls, etc. to comply with the NERC requirements.
