Brabant Water manages water production and distribution for the province Noord Brabant in Holland. Brabant Water serves 2.5 million residents. With close to 180 million m3 distributed every year through a network of pipes spanning 18,000 km in length. It is the second largest water utility in Holland and the first in the world which has a Climate Neutral certificate. Their PI-PIGI (PIGI = Greek for source) is the implementation of a chain of OSIsoft applications which unlock data from the process control environment and present it in the office environment on a GIS-layer using SharePoint. Using only the standard functionality of OSIsoft PI AF Server and PI WebParts and the standard Esri ArcGIS environment Brabant Water was able to build a robust tool that not only the process operators could work with but also the Department's Water Distribution and Client Contact Centre.
The PI-PIGI system will be more and more important in the near future for Brabant Water. It will not only be used as a portal for process operators but will also be a huge value for their Customer Contact Centre. In case a customer calls with questions about the water supplies, the Customer Contact Centre can give direct information about mechanics deployment or other problems using one portal. With PI-PIGI the water world within Brabant Water comes together.
