In a two-stage project, Biota Guard AS worked with the PI System to test, validate, and integrate a system to gather and transfer data across multiple refineries and fields as part of the 2008 Water Column Monitoring program, and then develop, test, and integrate software tools for data management, anlysis and reporting in a real time work environment through its Integrated Operations Center.
With the help of PI System technology, Biota Guard may enable the industry to evolve from its current ”zero emissions” philosophy applied in environmentally sensitive areas, and allow Biota Guard to provide its clients with an opportunity to improve their environmental management capability and respond more quickly and effectively to oil spills or other operational events which may threaten the marine environment.
Due to its unique real time monitoring and factual based reporting capabilities, Biota Guard also expects to play an important role in supporting exploration activity in environmentally sensitive areas. The Biota Guard Integrated Operation Center will add value by providing oil companies with real time environmental management capabilities in their existing Integrated Operation centers.
