In the Food and Beverage Packaging industry operator visibility to the entire operations line is critical to efficient production and quick response to problems. We use PI ProcessBook to display the production line status to our operators. In an effort to integrate our many PI ProcessBook displays we were faced with the problem of storing the PDI files somewhere other than on the individual computers used to display the screens to the operators on the factory floor. We decided to store the files on a network file server and build a tree view type menu system that allows the operators to easily and quickly select the display that they are interested in viewing. We customized a standard Tree View ActiveX control to display our own categories of PI ProcessBook displays.
