The Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) was established in 1923 and is the sole integrated utility in Israel, being one of the largest industrial companies in the country. IEC generates, transmits and distributes practically all the electricity in Israel, with an installed capacity of more than 12GW consisting mainly of thermal generation assets (gas, coal and oil-fired) satisfying an annual peak demand of 11 GW. This presentation will cover how IEC is getting value from the PI System across the whole value chain, with emphasis on the T&D business unit within IEC. Managing more than 200 substations and serving more than 2.6 million customers is a big challenge to address. After more than 20 years as a PI System customer, IEC has been able to enable real-time decisions across the whole enterprise with the help of more than 500 PI System users. Integration across many business processes has helped IEC save millions of dollars in operating expenses.
