This presentation presents the SymBot project, a collaboration between Symboticware, Glencore, Vale and Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation (CEMI), It enables the collection and integration of information generated by mobile mining equipment, while there is limited network connection, and acts as a store-and-forward gateway to manage intermittent connectivity. Integration into OSIsoft PI system ovided a solution that has enabled, real-time reporting, trending and alerts. Since OSIsoft PI System has a proven track record in Operational Intelligence, the solution minimized costs, training requirements and provided the new benefit of access to mobile asset data.
The SymBot provides advanced real-time decision support at the device level, and is bidirectional for remote configuration. Integrated applications developed include engine performance monitoring, automated pre- and post-shift inspection reports, speed control safety device, TPMS, location, emissions monitoring, and load weight.
