IPLOM is a refinery located in Northern Italy, an area that is characterized by very flexible operations. During the last several years, IPLOM has been focused on implementing OSIsoft RtPM to increase operation efficiency and yield profitability. This talk presents the way in which the refinery uses RtPM to prepare a production plan, measure and reconcile refinery yields, evaluate planned vs. measured performance, and distribute KPIs to management. Sigmafine 4 is used for dynamic automatic reconciliation, PI ACE is used for KPIs calculations, and PI ICE to distribute information to the production cockpit. IPLOM increased refinery yields profitability and saved both operational and personnel costs.
