Improving Grid Operator Situational Awareness with the Dispatch Interactive Map Application
Over the last decade, PJM Interconnection has been developing their GIS to compliment many aspects of their business. Starting with the System Planning division, the GIS and supporting applications incorporate functionality vital to planning at PJM. With the integration of the OSI PI System, the GIS has been used effectively in operations at PJM. These applications will be demonstrated. One of these applications, the Dispatch Interactive Map Application (DIMA), was developed specifically to enhance operator situational awareness. DIMA utilizes the On-premises ArcGIS Portal, incorporating real-time grid and weather data, utilizing ESRI ARCGIS and OSIsoft PI System integration, which will also be demonstrated. The talk will also discuss future capabilities and provide an overview of the technical design and integration.
