The power generation business is growing very quickly. Managing a wide-mix generation is key for maximizing benefits. Unfortunately, there are a lot of variables to monitor in real-time to achieve all of a company's goals. In this session, we describe how it's possible to change the role and convert plant floor data on actionable information, providing strong tools insight to maximize benefits and reliability across different power generation techniques—nuclear, combined-cycle, coal, renewables and others.

Miguel Chavero
Miguel is the IT Manager in the Monitoring Diagnostic and Simulation Center (CMDS) of Iberdrola, Spain. This center is responsible for providing specialist engineering support to all power stations within the company's fleet and third parties. Since 2001, he has been deploying all of the monitoring and diagnostics applications used on CMDS. Prior to the power industry, he worked at a water supply company in the IT department, as a Spanish Telecommunication Operator and as a Pre-Sales Engineer deploying technology solutions for customers. Miguel is also Iberdrola's representative on EPRI EIS (Energy Information Security) and is responsible for information security on Generation Control Systems within Iberdrola. He is CISSP certified.
