CEMEX Energia main business purpose is to develop clean energy generation assets with low capital commitments from the CEMEX SAB de CV group.
In order to obtain long-term capital to bring these projects to fruition, CEMEX Energia also offers the prospective owners assets management services, which include commercial administration, supervision of EPC and O&M contractors, asset performance supervision, allocation of energy among customers, permit management and accounting and tax services.
CEMEX Energia started the implementation of the PI System before the latest Wind Farm (2 x 126MW) entered into Commercial Operation in April 1st, 2016. Currently we are using the PI system and its main functionalities to monitor the operations of 84 Wind Turbines and associated electrical assets to deliver the energy at point of interconnection to the “National Grid”.

Roberto Carlos Medrano
Roberto is from Mexico and has over 11 years of experience in the Power Generation field; since July 2015 he has been working in CEMEX Energia as Operation and Maintenance Manager. He is responsible of the O&M of Power Plants under Operations and is working on the implementation of PI System throughout the rest of CEMEX Energia Operations. Previously, Roberto worked within Iberdrola Group and ENEL Green Power, covering key operational positions such as: Global Thermal Performance, Reliability, Operational efficiency, and Performance Improvement at fleet level. Roberto holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical and Electric Engineer from Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon, and has a specialization in Thermal and Fluids Engineering.
