Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation announced the opening of its Chicago-based monitoring center in April 2009, The primary goals of the new Suzlon Monitoring Center (SMC) were to support Suzlon’s operations, maintenance, and service organization in achieving higher availability through real-time monitoring of its assets, advanced TaxonomyItemHtml-cause analysis and troubleshooting tools, streamlined reporting, and visualization of corporate KPI’s. With a hard-working and dedicated team of technicians and engineers, the SMC developed new operating procedures and constructed a high-powered infrastructure – all that was missing was a tool to capture, store, analyze, and retrieve real-time fleet information on a common, centralized platform. OSIsoft’s PI system was an obvious choice, but choosing an Enterprise Agreement enabled Suzlon to hit the ground running – this particular presentation is the sequel to a presentation made at the OSIsoft User Group held in Chicago (October ’10) and will cover the second phase of Suzlon’s PI System rollout.
