Flowserve supplies pumps, valves, seals, automation and services to the power, oil, gas, chemical and other industries. Flowserve provides custom engineered solutions for new plants under construction and for existing end user installations. One example of solutions Flowserve provides is the Technology Advantage Web portal. The Technology Advantage web portal allows them to remotely collect data from customer facilities, translate that data into information in the form of KPIs and alarms, and enables customers to take action to improve their processes.
The web portal allows Flowserve engineers (and customer engineers) to remotely access information that enables them to remotely predict failures, diagnose issues, and improve performance of customer assets. Data is collected from customer facilities using OSIsoft interfaces and securely transferred up to a centrally maintained PI collective. Information from the PI database is translated into actionable information using performance equations that summarize sensory data and perform calculations that produce insightful KPIs and alerts. Those KPIs and alerts can be securely accessed from anywhere in the world using the Tech Advantage web portal.
Additionally, customers and Flowserve Engineers can also be notified by e-mail and SMS on those KPIs and alert data points. The Flowserve solution exposes Flowserve asset-specific enterprise data like the Bill of Materials, Customer Specific Drawings, Maintenance information and more. This allows customers and Flowserve engineers to quickly understand not only what’s happening with the asset, but what parts they might need and what the availability of those parts is. Above all, the Technology Advantage portal enables customers to leverage the knowledge of the whole Flowserve Engineering force through collaborative features. Flowserve engineers can provide reports, comments, issue tracking, commentary and more all through the Technology Advantage web portal.
