Harvard Medical School Transformed Using PI System Data
Harvard Medical School (HMS) will speak on its transformation by utilizing PI System data from 250+ critical research rooms. Researchers in HMS needed details of room conditions (realtime & history) to contextualize with research findings. Historically, they had to contact facilities requesting room conditions, which was inefficient and delayed. Now, real-time sharing helps avoid costly research work going wrong and supports HMS back up with information during any conflicts. PI System data helps energy specialists provide heat map of every floor in all buildings. This is a real-time indication of energy usage in relation to optimal predicted value. The building managers use this to avoid higher than peak power usage reducing energy bills. HMS has also planned to use PI System data from Air Handling Units to determine the health of the asset. AHU’s in HMS circulate 100% air to maintain high air quality standards. The findings will be used to plan maintenance work, optimize operations & save cost.
