Dean Nelson, Senior Director of Global Foundational Services for eBay, Inc. is responsible for strategy, architecture, and operations functions of eBay's mission critical infrastructure. Data center performance is critical to eBay’s success, and he will describe how their data-driven Digital Service Efficiency (DSE) initiative helps eBay to see the full cost, performance and environmental impact of customer buy and sell transactions, giving eBay a holistic way to balance and tune its technical infrastructure.
Neil Boland, Vice President of Information Security and Special Projects for Major League Baseball, Inc. will be discussing the incorporation of environmentally intelligent features in ballpark operation and use of software for sustainable ball park management. Neil is active in an initiative launched by MLB in 2010 to collect and analyze stadium operations data to develop and distribute best practice information across all clubs.

This role includes the strategy, architecture, and operations functions of eBay's mission critical infrastructure supporting the activities of ebay.com, paypal.com and other eBay Inc adjacencies. Prior to joining eBay, Mr. Nelson was the Senior Director of Global Lab & Data Center Design Services (GDS) of Sun Microsystems, where he enjoyed a 17-year career in a variety of roles. Mr. Nelson is also the Chairman and Founder of Data Center Pulse.
