Exelon Utilities Data Analytics Journey
Exelon Utilities has been using PI System technology to transform data into Information within utility operations for over 15 years. Over the past several years, Exelon Utilities formed a strategy to make sense of the flood of data and turn data into information to transform how they operate their system and communicate with the customer. This led to the Business Intelligence Data Analytics (BIDA) Program and the formation of the Data Analytics Platform (DAP). The solution employs an on premise, appliance-based hosting configuration that supports all 5 domains (AMI, Grid, Smart Energy Services, Customer Experience and Business Support) offering convergence, scalability and flexibility for future users and vendors. Dean is going to share their journey, lesson learned in this process and their thoughts to how PI real-time data fits within this DAP and vision
