Enterprise Integration of Operational Data from Wind Farm Assets
Today’s modern fleets of renewable power generation equipment are generally comprised of many multiples of similar assets (e.g. wind turbines and substations) that are distributed across a wide geographic footprint. The challenge for remote, centralized operations of these assets is how to integrate the sources of data into a common platform to achieve enterprise-level situational awareness and effectively coordinate field activities.
John Deere Renewables turned to the PI System from OSIsoft in addressing this challenge, and has implemented an Enterprise Management System that leverages standard toolsets for rapid deployment (Value Now) while remaining flexible and scalable to adapt to future needs (Value Over Time). This presentation will demonstrate the application of standard as well as customized displays, and will also address some tips, tricks, and lessons learned. Examples showing performance metrics will further illustrate the business impact resulting from these efforts.
