2018 - PI World - San Francisco - Innovation
Enhancing the Value Chain with the PI System
Manufacturers are always looking to reduce their product’s time to market and differentiate their product with value-added services.
The Clean Energy Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute (CESMII), a partner of the Department of Energy, is a consortium of academia and industry chartered to develop a platform for smart technologies and systems for use in advanced manufacturing, to keep US companies competitive through data insight and advanced analytics. The speaker will describe how the platform can be used to expedite the optimization of an additive manufacturing process.
Caterpillar’s customers utilize high value, heavy duty assets which are mission critical. To address a goal of eliminating unplanned downtime, combined with goals of working to get to lowest total cost of ownership and assist customers to address compliance issues (internal and external), Caterpillar has developed an end to end system integration from data connectivity to actionable operational insight leveraging OSIsoft PI System and PTC Thingworx.
