The ability of the PI AF software to combine real time process data with select business information was key to project success. The presentation will cover integrating key data points from other systems (CMMS, Production allocation, etc.) and the benefits and limitations of using the PI Asset Framework software with integration of PI WebParts on SharePoint. It will illustrate how the software uses role-based navigation to reduce user effort by allowing them to search for real-time data through a tree view instead of looking for a tagname.
It will also discuss best practices utilized to assure long term sustainability of the solution through front end definition of the governance process. This process defined a standard naming conventions to rename all tags and elements in the central server and develop standardized templates and graphics to make data more accessible to all users and ensure ongoing data integrity.
In conclusion, the presentation shows how PI AF and PI WebParts make it easier to merge real-time data with business data for one stop shopping for information.
