Williams implemented a new plan in 2013 to better monitor combustion quality, which will meet and satisfy compliance requirements for emissions and help protect the environment. Leveraging the real-time data streaming capabilities of the PI System, Williams was able to gather operational insights on the performance of its natural gas compressor engines, power cylinder burn time statistics, and deviations. PI Notifications were also set up to alert analysts when an engine operated outside of its specified thresholds. Additionally, daily emails are now sent out to keep key stakeholders within Williams informing crucial operations data. This has allowed Williams to be environmentally compliant and pass their NYDEC inspections. This presentation will describe in detail how Williams accomplished these successes, in hope that their innovations can inspire other organizations to gain similar benefits.
