Enel Experience with OSIsoft and the PI System
Use of the OSIsoft PI System has given Enel the benefits of integration of data from several sources, across the board easy access through generic client tools, fast access to a huge amount of data for analysis and real time calculations for plant management. Extended availability of data through the PI System has improved existing processes and made possible new control and management processes.
After extensive use of PI System products, Enel signed an Enterprise Agreement with OSIsoft in 2011 which provides unlimited access to the PI System products and new services to different business units in several countries. The new scope provided by the Enterprise Agreement has allowed Enel to deploy PI System products in more plants and get more value from the system through OSIsoft staff's direct involvement in system monitoring, management, project consultancy and training.

Javier Castane
Javier Castañé works for ENEL Energy Europe in the Global ICT, Application Development and Maintenance for Generation and Trading, Control and Monitoring area department. He has been working with the PI System since 2007 and is experienced in site planning, installation & maintenance and application development as Project Manager. He has been the EPM for Spain and South America since 2011. He is Enel’s Enterprise Program Manager for the Enterprise Agreement in Spain and South America.
Castañé has worked for Endesa in Spain and South America in Distribution Management Systems development and maintenance from 1997 to 2006, moving to PI System based Distribution Monitoring and Diagnosis System development and maintenance from 2007 to 2010 and PI System based Distribution and Generation Monitoring & Diagnosis Systems development and Maintenance for Enel in Spain and South America since 2011.
