Over the last several years, MOL’s downstream (refining and logistics) has been implementing a New Downstream Program (NDP) targeting improvements in the KPIs of: energy reduction (2% reduction); operational availability improvement (+1.1%); hydrocarbon loss reduction (30%); yield improvement (5%) generating in excess of $550K EBITDA. A long time PI System user primarily as a “historian” with heavy use of PI DataLink and many individual Microsoft Excel workbooks, MOL realized that the use of PI Asset Framework was fundamental to supporting their NDP and their transformational journey.
This presentation will overview MOLs’ strategic use of the PI System and in particular PI AF to enable the NDP and enabling their transformational journey to an operational intelligence and excellence company.
