This presentation describes on-going work at Entergy as a portion of its contribution to the Eastern Interconnection Phasor Project (EIPP) project. We demonstrate early results from the first phasor measurement unit (PMU) within Entergy, and propose one method for using this information to estimate the stability of the nearby power grid. The approach is based well known stability theory and moving window time varying FFT analyses. We also outline Entergy plans for the full EIPP implementation.
