BP Wind has implemented the PI System for their Wind Farm operations, under an Enterprise Agreement with BP Renewables. The system is built on the PI System, and incorporates partner solution: Ekho for Wind. The overall solution is being used to address Generation, Maintenance, Downtime, Performance Analysis and Reporting and Lease and Royalty Payments on a global scale. PI System components in use include: PI ProcessBook, PI DataLink, PI Asset Framework (PI AF), PI Advanced Computing Engine (PI ACE), PI Module Database (PI MDB), and PI WebParts. The PI System as chosen because of the ability of the PI System to handle large volumes of real-time data in a high performance manner; the value the PI System brings to BP for real-time monitoring and alerting, reporting, event editing and performance analysis; the ability to easily integrate real time performance and event data into 3rd party applications such as iTi’s Ekho for Wind.
