The power of data is only limited by the quality and quantity of data available from the source. This is particularly apparent in the relatively young renewables industry, where data sources can be quite numerous and complex. To maximize said quality and quantity, it becomes necessary to take unique and creative approaches toward data acquisition. This presentation examines one approach to gathering data directly from wind turbine generator controllers through the widely-adapted OPC platform.
