New integration methods are creating the ability to connect a PI System directly to a wind turbine control system. This process allows the owner operator to bypass the manufacturers SCADA system to provide more direct access to the controller. This technique has the ability to expose hundreds to thousands more data points to the end user. The Day Zero Renewable users group meeting hosted a customer panel to discuss the pros and cons of this direct connection integration. Panelist discuss their experiences and plans for the new technology.
