This session will walk you through a working example of extending the PI System into the new mobile world of Windows 8. We will deliver PI System data using Microsoft Azure Cloud Services to a Windows 8 tablet. Along the way things like security, data access, cloud technologies, and Windows 8 application development will be discussed. After this session you will have a basic understanding of how these new tools can be used to connect to and deliver PI System data to a larger audience.

Lonnie A. Bowling is a software engineer and architect with a wide breath
of knowledge and experience in multiple industries. He has used a variety
of software development environments and specializes in several OSIsoft PI
System products. He is focused on creating custom software systems that
connect machine generated data to higher level support and information
systems. An example of this is providing native notifications on mobile
devices with the ability to analyze supporting information in real-time. He has
strong C# and .Net programming skills, and a working knowledge of using
cloud-based technologies such as Microsoft Azure. He currently is working on
developing mobile applications for the the iPhone, iPad, and Windows Phone
that access the PI System.
