Nsolv is a Canadian, clean-tech energy company devoted to solving operational and environmental problems of heavy oil extraction. The company has patented warm solvent technology for in-situ projects that requires zero water and far less energy compared to steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD). The company is currently operating a pilot plant near Fort McMurray with the goal of validating the commercial viability of the Nsolv technology.
Nsolv has greatly benefited from the PI System at the pilot plant. It has enabled Nsolv, a small company with limited resources, the ability to meet similar demands and expectations that are required of larger companies. Nsolv has leveraged a set of PI System tools (PI ProcessBook, PI DataLink and PI API) to help satisfy regulatory and business requirements, generate revenue and provide around-the-clock operational support; all the while maintaining its small workforce. The PI System is truly a force multiplier.
