Deploying IIoT across Private-LTE for Industrial/Utility Assets
Note: this presentation recording is joined in progress.
Modern wind farms feature large multi-megawatt turbines deployed in remote locations. Typically these wind turbines are controlled and managed by a fiber-optic network enabled SCADA system. However not all critical data from the turbines is made available to satisfy performance engineering issues. Working with Sempra in their large wind farm in USA, SenseOps, OSIsoft, Qualcomm and Nokia have engineered and deployed an Industrial IoT solution uptower in the turbines, transmitting high speed data across a private-LTE network to the owner's on premise PI System. In addition to the IIoT data coming across the LTE network, the on premise PI system is acquiring all data from the local SCADA system, aggregating and correlating the IIoT/SCADA data at the local level. The on premise PI system shares this data with the SenseOps hosted PI system running in the Google Cloud Platform. From there, authorized users use the PI Vision tools to identify turbines showing signs of machine failures.
