This presentation will provide an overview of the PI Data Access family of products—the tools people use to integrate the PI System with external systems and develop custom applications. Typical use cases include analytics, reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) scenarios, using applications such as SQL Server Reporting/Analysis Services, Crystal Reports, MATLAB, SAS, PowerPivot, IBM Cognos, SAP Business Objects and more. PI Data Access products can also be used to enhance—and sometimes automate—business processes and workflows, such as production planning, condition-based maintenance, equipment reliability and product quality, just to name a few. Other sessions will dive in more details on some of these specific scenarios. Attend this session to learn what's new and what's coming up in the PI Data Access space (hint: PI Event Frames!), and to see examples of how people use these tools to deliver the right information, at the right time, at the right place.
