A foundation of DCP’s digital transformation is having rapid, near real time, accurate, meaningful and complete data with context. An important part of this capability is provided by a company-wide PI System that was deployed in 2017. Change has been rapid, with DCP moving from no centralized means of collecting and using operational data to having 28 gas plant, 500 compressor stations (and their associated gathering systems), and the company’s major interstate pipelines connected to the PI System in 10 months. In parallel with deployment, DCP has put PI to use, building products that support the improved business processes and organizational changes. Two examples of these efforts are our Plant Views (optimizing cryo plant operation) and Compression Health Monitoring (focused on condition-based maintenance). Since deploying PI in 2017 DCP Midstream are reporting more than $20million of cost savings and operational benefits attributable to OSIsoft PI.

Tauna Rignall
Tauna Rignall is the director of operations for the newly established Integrated Collaboration Center (ICC) at DCP Midstream. Within the ICC, Rignall leads the team accountable for asset system optimization, field management, and integrated business decisions. Since joining DCP Midstream in 2012, Tauna has been responsible for project development, execution, start-up, and day-to-day operations. Prior to leading the ICC, Rignall was an engineer in the project execution group, and served as an operations supervisor for multiple gas processing plants in the Denver-Julesburg Basin. With over 15 years of diverse experience in both the oil and gas and renewable energy industries, Rignall’s skills include first principles research, process design, and large project coordination and execution. Tauna has a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. She has published technical papers in peer reviewed journals and has received DCP’s 2018 Chairman’s Award.
