Liander's strategy in a changing energy playing field is to focus on better customer service, operational excellence and move towards being a data-drive grid operator in the upcoming years. This presentation gives insight in Liander's journey to become a data-driven grid operator by 1) reducing outages by faster localization and recovery and keeping customers better informed 2) optimize grid investment through condition-based management, and 3) develop new customer services for a sustainable energy system. In addition to improved communications and sensor technologies, having a solid platform and expertise for developing and implementing data-driven solutions are important factors for success.
This presentation gives an overview of the solutions developed by Liander Livelab for Liander's tactical and analytical needs. It will also demonstrate Grid Operations' solution for Geo-Spatial Awareness built with the PI Integrator for Esri ArcGIS, with real-time data from the Liander Livelab innovation & expertise platform."

Robin Hagemans MSc is working as the IT R&D Manager at Alliander (holding company of Liander) and is a member of the management team for Digital Grids. He studied Process Engineering and Business Science in the Netherlands and is the executive of the innovation program for translating complex grid–related analytics into robust and scalable IT solutions. Robin has a background in Technical Automation & Statistical Engineering, and participated as a senior member of the Energy Transition Taskforce for the development of Alliander’s Smart Grid Strategy & Roadmap.

Patrick Koetsier MSc is the Information Manager - Analytics and is responsible for managing the portfolio for Analytics-based IT solutions. In this position he monitors the process for gathering business requirements, the development and the implementation of IT applications. Patrick holds a master degree in Business Information Management from the Rotterdam School of Management.
