Customer Keynote - Decision & Operational Support in an Integrated Energy Business
Sempra Energy has been a PI customer for several years; with multiple PI systems deployed across its Enterprise, from Electric Generation, LNG - Liquefied Natural Gas, Wind/Solar, Electric Transmission & Distribution Operations, Substation Maintenance, Gas Transmission, Gas Distribution and Storage, etc. This presentation will cover how Sempra Energy uses PI systems to transform data into information for decision analysis, capital investments (smart meters, smart grid, new transmission and new renewable generation, etc.) and O&M-Operations and Maintenance cost spending (Asset Optimization, CBM Condition Based Maintenance, renewable output forecast, system process performance and operations improvement).
This presentation will also examine and discuss the integration of the end-to-end value chain from fuel sources to consumer/residential electrical meters. It will demonstrate the examples and the integration of various power generation sources, through the high-voltage transmission grid, distributing power through the local grids, down to the residential and commercial/industrial consumer. The presentation will also cover a high-level architecture, application possibilities, and new business and reliability achievements obtainable with PI-based enterprise infrastructure integration approach.
