Having electricity available is critical to our lifestyles and occupations. Having a smarter grid at IIT and using a software like OSIsoft to manage our energy equipment, provides us greater visibility of previously obscured resources, allows crews to make faster and more precise decisions regarding maintenance and outages, reduces costs associated with maintenance delays and damaged equipment, gives us a baseline model of the campus energy system to measure off of when we make changes or add new equipment, and of course consolidates the data in a practical form for advanced analytics.
