Critical Process Parameter Monitoring in Nutritional Manufacturing

Karst Pol of Abbott Laboratories will describe their use of Critical Process Parameters (CPP) monitoring in nutritional manufacturing, explain why CPP monitoring is important in this industry, and survey recent CPP initiatives in their plants around the globe (Casa Grande, Singapore, Granada). His presentation will recount how Abbott Laboratories have used the PI System to deliver CPP monitoring tools to the business.

KARST VAN DER POL joined Abbott in 1995 and spent his time with Abbott supporting all kinds of IT projects including Enterprise Resource Management, Supply Chain Management and Manufacturing Execution Systems. In 2008 he took the lead of the OSIsoft PI System implementation in the Zwolle plant in the Netherlands. In 2013 he became a technical team member of Abbott Nutrition’s global MES team and this year supported the MES implementation in the Singapore plant.
