They use the OPC DA and AE interfaces, and also the batch interface to archive relevant recipe parameters and the associated data.
The PI System is not only responsible for archiving data, but it also makes the data available on a central server for feeding other systems. Once a batch ends, the PI System sends a notification to a central application, which retrieves the batch data and forwards the relevant information to the SAP ERP."
