PI System solutions are being implemented in the production environment of a CEZ Group Division. CEZ has divisions both in the Czech Republic and abroad. The CUTD Project aims to resolve the issues CEZ is currently facing within their production environment. CEZ is currently in multiple heterogeneous systems for collecting process data at individual locations. These systems are based on different technologies, which may lead to an increase in the cost of managing these systems to ensure their further development. Another major problem is the decentralization process data collected. CEZ wants efficient management and provision of data using a system that accesses data from a single location.
To solve these problems CEZ has implemented PI Servers, PI Interface, PI Asset Framework (PI AF), PI ProcessBook, PI DataLink and PI WebParts. They expect to see centralized storage of process data and harmonization of methods of collecting, processing and communication of data in different locations. CEZ Group also wishes to unify the technology base of collectors, storage and a basic set of service applications over the Central Data repository by combining PI System data sharing applications together with setting a single interface and output presentation using MS SharePoint.
