Building a Condition Monitoring System Based on PI AF
Fingrid Oyj, the electricity transmission system operator in Finland responsible for the main transmission system, uses the PI System. To get more value out of their data, and to make it more available to users, they decided to start developing a condition monitoring system providing improved visualization of the system together with automatic early stage notification based on the PI System infrastructure.

Kimmo Nepola is graduating from the Aalto University in 2013 with an M.Sc. degree in power systems and high voltage engineering. He has worked at Fingrid Oyj since 2009 with as the Project Manager for maintenance and retrofit projects, development of condition monitoring systems and techniques and R&D in asset management.

Asle Frantzen
Asle Frantzen is a Senior Software Engineer at Amitec in Norway, and an MCTS in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server application development. He has nine years of experience in the field of industrial IT, and has been working with the PI System at Amitec since 2008. He does project management and software development with most PI System technologies, as well as SharePoint solutions. Amitec is a PI System Integrator / Value Added Reseller (VAR) in Norway, working with clients in the Nordic countries. Amitec has been a partner with OSIsoft since 1996.
