This session introduces two important concepts in the world of web service technologies: REST and RESTful services. It will present the Open Data (OData) protocol and describe this emergent standard, then show how it could play a major role in today's information landscape. OData can help with the sharing of data from heterogeneous sources which would normally not be connected. Participants will learn about these technologies and have a say in shaping OSIsoft's Data Access products roadmap—we want to learn what you think of OData and accessing PI System data via OData. This talk will include practical code samples to help get started creating RESTful services.
