This session reviews the guidelines to build a plant topology for the major areas of a plant from a business management view. A simple approach is used to build plant block diagram from raw materials to products. Based on this structure additional work is built around the PI MDB. The information is accessed and analyzed using the RtPortal tools. This strategy simplifies the implementation and adoption by business and operating managers. It is based on a top down approach for fast implementation. We will show a typical industrial plant example.
