Best Practices in Global Specification Management
Process organizations universally agree that global specification management is a business essential, offering substantial benefits that accrue over time. Yet, companies with global specification management strategies are the exception, not the norm. Those who’ve taken the plunge are reaping near-term benefits like strategic sourcing and faster global product launch. This presentation looks at the results of AMR’s recent research into the emerging area of Global Specification Management for Process Manufacturers, with a focus on the need for Manufacturing involvement early in the planning and requirements gathering phase for these enterprise initiatives.
OSIsoft’s ProcessPoint provides the ability to integrate product specifications with real-time manufacturing data. The combination of global specification management capabilities used in context with RtPM software components for visualization, analysis, and reporting creates afoundation for performance improvement. This presentation will demonstrate the integration of quality and process specifications with real-time production data in such clients as ProcessBook, AlarmView, SQC and RtReports.
