Abbott Nutrition is an OSIsoft EA customer having years of high-fidelity process data stored in multiple PI Systems. In this presentation Abbott Nutrition explains how they created asset availability and product utilization metrics and deployed these metrics throughout their organization. These new calculations were made possible through advanced data contextualization. By creating valuable insights through assembling information up into a digestible format for operations, engineering and management audiences, Abbott Nutrition has been able to drive forward with continuous improvement and improve profitability. Abbott Nutrition applies manufacturing intelligence techniques to detect the operational state of key manufacturing assets. These states, or dimensional data, are then used to isolate slices of PI data enabling advanced analytics tools to identify cause-effect relations for both quality and productivity.
