Since 1998, data recording at AV Cell has evolved from manual entries on paper log sheets to electronic manual entries in an Ekho data management system and automatic data collection from a new DeltaV Control System. The data is being transferred to a PI Server, allowing people to access all data as far back as 2007 when the PI Server was installed. Supervisors have developed their own process monitoring PI ProcessBook displays and MS Excel reports with PI DataLinks, and a summer student helped copy the format of the new DeltaV Control System screens in the mill into PI ProcessBook displays, for viewing by anyone with access to the network. Examples of current pages and tables will be shown. The current displays and reports set up using the PI System are constantly evolving and there remains more features and applications for us to explore and apply.
