Chevron’s MidContinent/Alaska Business Unit looked to implement a centralized process data historian to aggregate field data and make it easily available for consumption by business applications. Chevron used OSIsoft PI as the data historian and AF2.0 to store meta-data, to provide a logical naming structure and to keep object structure consistent through use of AF Templates. The automation of the creation of AF Elements and PI Points ensures that the data in SCADA and in the PI Data Historian is always in synch and minimizes the workload on the SCADA and Historian administrators and support staff.

Misha Shemyakin is a data architect and project lead in Accenture Technology Labs, based in Chicago, IL. He has extensive experience in Predictive Analytics, and specifically in the area of Equipment Monitoring and Optimization. Industry experience includes Power Generation, Oil & Gas and Transportation, with functional expertise in Analytics and Modeling, Data and Solution Architecture and GIS. Misha has held development, architecture, strategy and project management roles in a number of projects throughout his career with Accenture, including a technical lead role on a Predictive Monitoring project that was nominated for a Wall St. Journal Innovation Award and was named a Smart 50 Web Innovation by BusinessWeek.
