The PAT and QbD initiatives increase the demand on adapted process monitoring and control techniques within pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries. Multivariate statistical process monitoring is a well suited technique which for many years has been used for real-time monitoring and control of processes. MSPM is built on Multivariate data analysis (MVDA) techniques which are well suited to describe a process design space or normal operating space. MSPM allows real-time monitoring to verify operation within the established process space or diagnose reasons for deviation. This talk will focus on MSPM using OSI-PI and PI-batch and will also demonstrate how MVDA allows comparison of batches over time, between scales and sites.
