IBERDROLA, a power company with plants around the world, is the first private producer of power in Mexico. This presentation explains how IBERDROLA uses PI to maximize efficiency, availability, and reliability of its installed capacity in Mexico. It covers the configuration of multiple PI Systems—15,000 tags per site provide information for daily reports and efficiency analysis. The functionality of on-site PI Systems and their local ACE Servers is described, including Math Model processing; short term data storage on-site; an email notification system; and reporting to IBERDROLA’s main customer, the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE). The central IBERDROLA PI System interfaces with headquarters in Spain, the CFE and other networked information systems. PI allows centralization of all information in a single server, meaning that users need only connect to one server. This avoids overloading on-site servers, ensures the redundancy of critical information, serves other corporate information systems, and stores all results of the Math Models.
