Lance Fountaine
Lance Fountaine has held the role of Manufacturing Solutions Manager for Alcoa, Global Primary Metals since October 2008. He has global accountability for the development and deployment of common, best practice Manufacturing Applications, and the supporting computing infrastructure. He is currently leading global deployment activities of the SMART Manufacturing architecture across all of Alcoa Global Primary Metals.
Lance began his career at Alcoa when he joined Massena Operations as an electrical engineer in 1993. Since that time he has held positions providing process control, manufacturing and IT services at the location, region and enterprise level. In addition to his technical experience, Lance has also recently led efforts to consolidate location IT and PCS resources into a common Information and Process Systems (IPS) organization. Lance transferred from Massena Operations to the Alcoa’s Knoxville office in late 2003.
Lance was a Presidential Scholar at Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree Electrical Engineering in 1991 and returned to get his Masters of Science in Electrical Power in 1993 as a research associate for Niagara Mohawk. In addition to his experience at Alcoa, Lance also held several part time positions at the New York Power Authority’s FDR hydro facility in Massena, NY.
