An initiative to standardize asset data collection is being rolled out in part of it´s discrete operations
using PI Asset Framework and PI Connector technology. PI Connectors interface with CNC machines to automatically create an asset hierarchy and maintain PI Point lists. PI Asset Analytics create Event Frames to standardize OEE calculations that specifically categorizes downtime of the CNC machines giving workers a local improvement system that allows them to improve asset utilization. A real-time visualization is done and shown in PI Vision which experiences a high demand in the Operations. Furthermore, the use of PI Integrator for Business Analytics enables a BI integration. A POC using this technology to give further insight in operational data is being well received.
