PRESENTATION
2019 - PI World - San Francisco - Forest & Paper Products
Telling stories with data that set your company on fire
The P&P Industry is generally driven by responsive actions: most engineers quickly become firefighters trying to alleviate the day-to-day challenges. How do we move from this reactive approach to a more proactive one and finally evolve to predictive process control? We need to use technology to ask the right questions and present the answers in a meaningful way that people can take action on them.
In this Users Group Meeting, we will touch on the cultural change that needs to happen in the industry to use the parameters that provide the best mill performance. We will cover topics such as:
• Great dashboard design
• Language around safety
• Quality, cost, and production indicators that people can understand
Finally, we will discuss the importance these changes have to upper management and how to sell these changes from the role you are in. This will be an interactive, dynamic session, so come prepared with pen and paper!
