Shell - A business perspective of Real-Time Operations
In this presentation Mr Ali Hamza (Global Wells, Reservoir and Facilities Management Performance Lead) and Mr Peter Van Den Heuvel (Manager of Shell’s PI CoE) will give an overview of how they see the past, present and future of the use of PI at Shell. Shell have been a long-time customer of OSIsoft PI and this presentation will provide an overview of how Shell has been using data to improve its operations over the last 20 years, initially as part of their Digital Oilfield ‘Smart Fields’ programme and now increasingly as part of a more complex ‘Smart Foundation’ digital platform which supports streaming analytics, advanced real-time workflows, collecting data from smart IoT devices, integrating Shells real-time data to other operational systems and sending data to the Cloud for advanced BI and Analytics. Ali and Peter will explain why Shells real-time platform has had to evolve and how the Shell business and CoE work together on projects to maximise the value Shell get from their PI Systems.
